Project Title: Synthesis of Exosome-Like Vesicles with Customized Cargo for Cardiac Repair

Is your lab work remote, in-person, or hybrid? In-person

How did you join your lab? I sent the PI an email with my resume and went through an interview process.

Please describe your project:

Cardiac stem cells release vesicles called exosomes that transport mRNA and protein to injured cardiac tissue. However, the cargo in these exosomes is difficult to control and is limited in its reparative potential. The purpose of my project is to engineer vesicles that mimic exosomes and that deliver customized cargo to spur myocardial repair.
